Our Tea Rooms are located in a lovely spot overlooking the garden and meadow. We try to use locally sourced ingredients to make our traditional homemade baked goods, which we’re really proud of. Our cozy dining area and garden are popular for lunch, and our homemade cakes are the perfect sweet treat when paired with our smooth coffee blend or breakfast tea. When summer arrives, you can enjoy a cream tea, maybe with a refreshing glass of Pimms while taking in the warm afternoon and watching the world go by.
Indulge in our specialty – the delightful Afternoon Tea. Each creation is thoughtfully and meticulously baked in-house to ensure its delectable taste. Our menu changes monthly, featuring special themed Afternoon Teas for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Hallowe’en, and Christmas. Whether you prefer to dine in or take out, we’ve got you covered. Please note that we kindly request a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to ensure the best experience possible.
There is a choice of seating available for your visit:
- Traditional Dining Room. seats up to 35.
- Garden Snug: seats 4/5
- Shepherd’s Hut: seats up to 16
- BBQ Hut: seats up to 15
If you have a particular place in mind it is advisable to call and book.
If you prefer your Luxury Afternoon Tea, Cream Tea or Whole Cake on a Collection or Local Delivery basis this may be possible. A small delivery charge will be payable and availability will depend on how busy we are on site. Minimum quantities apply so the best things is to either message me through the contact form on this page or call me direct. We’ll see what we can do for you!

Our Dining Room is wheelchair accessible and seats up to approximately 35 people or slightly more if you don’t mind being cozy! It is lovely and warm in the winter and offers views out over the garden and river and meadow to the side. It’s where you will find us – we’re always up for a chat!
Looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some coffee and cake with your friends?
Our Garden Snug is the perfect spot for groups of up to five people (if you’re booking afternoon tea, this reduces to four).
Sit back and relax on our super comfortable shabby chic sofas. We can’t wait for you to join us!
Our Shepherd’s Hut has been a huge success!
It’s perfect for a group of up to 16 people, but for private use, we require a minimum booking of 10 individuals. Alternatively, we can accommodate two separate groups of up to 8 people each. It is not suitable for small groups of 2-3. Larger bookings take priority.
Please be aware that the hut has four steps to climb and is not wheelchair accessible.
Our quirky BBQ Hut, affectionately known as the Hobbit Hut to many, can comfortably accommodate up to 15 individuals. In the evenings, guests have the option to rent the BBQ Hut for a fee of £10 per person which covers the cost of charcoal and crockery. Additionally, the Hut serves as a unique and charming setting for extra seating in the Tea Room when required.

If you are a guest at Double-Gate Farm, you have the convenient option of pre-ordering a takeout lunch from our Tea Rooms for the next day. Simply fill out the form provided in your Information Folder and submit it the night before. Please note that this service is not available on days when the Tea Rooms are closed.

Our Luxury Afternoon Teas are what we are known for!
If you wish to have Afternoon Tea, you must make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance. We cannot guarantee that we can host last-minute reservations.
Presently we do not require advance payment but if you cancel within 24 hours or fail to attend, you will be responsible for the entire reservation amount.

Absolutely a wonderful and peaceful place to stay, wonderful choice of breakfasts, Debs and her family and parents could not do enough for us, their information pack was spot on with everything you needed to know, will certainly vist again.
Excellent cake and coffee, as it was Easter, the crème egg bombs were amazing, we were trying to deconstruct the recipe! Lovely baking. Very friendly attentive and accommodating, will go back next time to sample lunch (also looked appetising !)
Great location. Fabulous breakfast. Comfortable room. We had a very warm welcome and had everything we needed for a wonderful short break. The view from the room was perfect. The pub next door was a huge bonus!
