This charming cottage used to be a rustic barn in the countryside, and it has been thoughtfully designed to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. You’ll receive a warm welcome upon arrival, complete with delectable homemade cake or scones, a well-stocked beverage tray, and a bottle of locally sourced apple juice, orange juice, and milk. These thoughtful touches are provided to help you settle in and feel right at home. The perfect start to your holiday.

It’s important to keep in mind that Swallow Barn has only been inspected for quality by the AA, and is no longer included in Visit England’s inspection program.

  • Groceries can be delivered on day of arrival – please check with proprietor first.
  • The ground floor area fully accessible.
  • The sitting room has comfortable seating for 6 people. The single armchair is on a slightly raised platform to help anyone who has trouble getting up and out of a nice comfy chair!
  • Inglenook fireplace with a log burner – first basket of logs free, then £10/basket thereafter.
  • Flat screen smart TV.
  • Free WiFi
  • Kitchen is multi-functional. Two heights of work top are connected via an adjustable height sink. Cooker, hob, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, fridge-freezer.
  • Washer/Dryer
  • Dining room has a wheel under table and 8 chairs and is fully equipped for 8 people.
  • Ground floor twin bedroom with a large en-suite: roll in shower, two wash basins at different heights and WC. Shower seating, static and mobile can be provided free of charge.
  • Two double en-suite bedrooms upstairs have lovely views across to the Mendip Hills. Equipped with touch lighting and flat screen smart TV’s.
  • Beddings & Towels provided (1 bath sheet, 1 hand towel, 1 flannel per person).
  • Patio area with table and chairs.
  • Two off road parking spaces in our car park across the road.
  • Non-smoking inside and outside.
  • The main communal garden and Games Room are available to all guests. Ball games can be played in the adjacent fields or at the village playing field where there are also swings only a five-minute walk away.

Excellent cake and coffee, as it was Easter, the crème egg bombs were amazing, we were trying to deconstruct the recipe! Lovely baking. Very friendly attentive and accommodating, will go back next time to sample lunch (also looked appetising !)

Great location. Fabulous breakfast. Comfortable room. We had a very warm welcome and had everything we needed for a wonderful short break. The view from the room was perfect. The pub next door was a huge bonus!
