There are tea rooms where everything is beautifully polished, perfectly coordinated and probably smells faintly of lavender.
And then there’s Double-Gate Farm.
Here, the cakes are homemade.
The scones are made by us.
The cream teas are very serious business.
Steve is usually somewhere in the kitchen.
Debbie is usually covered in flour.
And there’s a pretty good chance someone has forgotten where they put the cake knife. 🤦♀️😂
But that’s what makes Double-Gate Double-Gate.
Tucked away at Godney, between Wells and Glastonbury, we’re a little farm tea room surrounded by the Somerset Levels — the sort of place where you can sit down with a proper cup of tea, a slice of cake and a view across the countryside and suddenly realise you’ve been there for two hours. 🌿
And yes… EVERY CAKE IS MADE HERE.
No bought-in cakes.
No mass-produced scones.
No pretending we made something we didn’t. 😉
Just good old-fashioned baking, plenty of butter, far too much chocolate and a woman who probably should know better than to start another cake. 😂🍰
